Name: Erik, alias Opera Ghost, the Phantom of the Opera
Age: unknown

Height: 6ft 3"
Appearance: [at least two paragraphs] With the mask on Erik seems almost normal. He has pale blue eyes that are possibly the most emotional part of his body. You can always tell when he's planning something, they get a glint in them. He has deep black hair, though this in all reality is a wig. He is often seen wearing a long black cloak with a white lining and quite a few concealed pockets one of which being where he will conceal his deadly lasso. He also wears a tailcoat, waistcoat, a shirt with ruffles and straight legged trousers and ankle boots. All of this in black, with the exception of the waistcoat which is either black or in a red velvet like material - his black waistcoat is silk generally. He also wears black leather gloves, why is unknown.
Without the mask though to most people he would seem a sheer freak. The side of his face that is covered by the mask is a mass of scars, these scars continue back deep into his natural hairline, causing most of it to be missing on one side henceforth the need for a wig. Due to how much hatred he would gain if most people knew the truth there are very few people whom he leaves his wig and mask off to. Unfortunatly, most the time females will take his mask off anyway, as such we often get Erik damning the curiousity of females.
Erik's back is near on covered by scars from the whip of his gypsy masters.
Personality: [at least two paragraphs] Erik's personality is rather intrictate to say the least. For at times he can indeed be a veritable demon when something has angered him. He tries to be reasonable, but few people respond to a ghost. That's when his mind generally starts to end up... plotting tricks or even killings. His temper is rather quick to rouse, which is rather unfortunate at times as it leads to some deaths that could easily be excused, but in a blind fury there is only one thing that Erik can think of... that's killing. Then to the otherside of the spectrum, when he is engaged with Music his mind can be so focused on that the whole Opera House above him could burn down and he'd not notice. Erik can be highly protective of anything that he cares for, he's had enough taken off him by the gypsies after all. This is another thing that will get him to kill.
Despite all this at times Erik can be very charismatic, and CERTAINLY knows how to use his voice to hypnotise people. All of the above personality traits though are almost another mask, not a physical one but a mental one. For underneath all of this Erik is highly insecure, scared of losing everything. He took on the role of the Opera Ghost to hide behind a different persona. For when one knows of the pain and suffering the outcasts take if they get found out, one prefers to keep oneself hidden.

History: [At least three paragraphs] The Phantoms history is long and complex, lets face it he is a complex character. His year of birth is unknown, but he was born into a relatively normal family. His father ran away when he was four, why is unknown. His mothers treatment of him grew progressively worst. Often Erik was found in the priests quarters, hiding away and learning everything he could. A few months after his seventh birthday his mother sold him to the gypsies. There began the first reign of hell on earth for him.
This though ended when he attracted the attention of the Shah in Persia, when he was 13. She sent the head of police, Nadir Al Khan - you may know him as the Persian though - to buy him from the gypsies. It was here in Persia in the rosy hours of Mandezeran that Erik learnt to kill, and to kill well. He was often assassinating for the Shah, or killing for her own personal amusement. His ways were quite ingenious as well, coming up with a new way to kill someone that would reveal his craft his knowledge.
Yet this brief idyllic interlude ended when the Shah realised that Erik could never be allowed free. She cast him in the deepest dungeon, knowing even if she took his eyes he would still be able to recreate the marvels he had created only for her. Once again Nadir came to Eriks rescue, letting him go and even making it seem like he'd drowned.
Erik slowly made his way to Paris, and there he used his cunning to switch the plans around for the building of Le Opera Populaire to ones that would better suit him and joined up as one of the builders. Overnight when everyone else was gone he worked about creating himself his own little abode deep in the cellars of the Opera House. The house by the lake.
Everything was quiet and peaceful for a while. Until the songbird Christine gained Eriks attention. Most of us know the tale well though, but still it is a part of his history. I shall include it despite his scowling at me.
Erik rapidly became enraptured with Christine, though he kept up the guise as a teacher for a while, eventually he brought her to his house by the lake and even held her their against her will until the Masked ball where he allowed her to leave to show the Persian that she would return to him, without his forcing of her which she duly did. But love was never truly their. When Erik found out about her and Raouls plan to escape the Opera House he was furious as one could imagine. Half way through the performance he kidnapped Christine and took her to his lair, to his home.
Nadir and Raoul raced after him, but made the mistake of falling prey to Eriks torture chamber. This gave Erik the perfect opportunity as a bargaining chip, not that he didn't have one already. When Christine turned the scorpion the torture chamber flooded not only the gunpowder store Erik had hidden but also the torture chamber. It took a lot of pleading on Christines part to get Erik to let them free. But by that time he had realised and allowed Christine to be set free, and to go with her Raoul.
Now we meet him as he is now. Pretty much alone, only just getting over the loss of Christine.
RP Sample: [At least three paragraphs] Eriks eyes flashed angrily. Why had his... requests not been met? He was in half a mind to deal with those hypocrites himself. Yet he found some reserve to somehow hold himself back. "I'm going to play my Music," he growled, that growl showing his bad temperedness before he stalked off, his cloak swishing behind him slightly.
There was a slight sound of the door to the music room slamming shut again showing Erik's bad temper at that moment in time before angry chords started to emenate from beneath the door to the Music room. Yep Erik was annoyed this time. Whether it was due to his salary not being paid or other reasons though, it wasn't truly known. Perhaps Carlotta was back, she always managed to put him in a bad mood. Especially when he spent half his time trying to get rid of her for the sake of his hearing.
After a few minutes the angry chords fell into actual proper music, still angry feeling though. Sometimes it could take Erik hours to calm down when he was angry. Music was just one way he had of dealing with it... one of the less violent ways. For he could indeed be very violent, even to the point of killing should he have need to. He knew that in all reality dealing with the managers was his daughters job, but still. There were times when he longed to really scare the dunderheads. The idiotic hypocritical excuse he had for managers. He had more claim to the Opera House then they did afterall. Did he not aide in the building of it?
